events I dropped a line to McLean asking him what to do. Will you kindly tell me how long the ticket can run without having the things subject to sale? Of course if Wheeler gets wind of the matter and the ticket is out he will sell the things and tell me to go where the thermometer is 600 degrees in winter. Also will you please ask Henry to write me just what is missing and if he can swear to the property I can describe the gun - I presume it is the last one - so minutely that there can be no doubt about it. I hope to be in R. Christmas week but if anything must be done sooner can send power of attorney to anyone you may think but H. tells me of Scott's failure. Just how will that affect the things you have sent to Princeton? I wrote Preston about the whale drawings as I did not know as you would be around Tell Henry if he gets this way I shall be happy to accommodate him. Also remember me to Mr. Howell and tell him too that I shall be glad to have him stay with me at his old quarters. Sincerely yours Fred A. Lucas
