Having heard of two specimens being for sale at Sydney I have written to a friend to report on their size and condition and if recommended I will purchase them and retain one for this Museum & forward the other to Professor Ward to be exchanged for some American specimens of natural history - To procure all the specimens required I would recommend an advertisement being put in some Brisbane newspaper. I enclose my last annual report and should be happy to correspond with Professor Ward with a view to making mutual exchanges. I have or could procure duplicates of most of the mammals birds and reptiles of South Australia - As all the species are numbered in Gould's Hand book, the numbers of such as are desiderata would be sufficient - I am Dear Sir very truly yours F. G Waterhouse
