Old Pompey is not dead yet; he is alive and kicking
with as much energy as ever. I have taught him a new trick which is to sing. if I hold up a peice of meat and tell him to sing, he will set up a most ludicrous whining. The first time Mother heard him she came near getting a </u pain in her pocket >, she laughed so hard. I have been reading "Moores Lolla Rockh". I think it is a very fine poem. I especially like the part</s unlabeled >entitled "Paradise and the Peri". I would advise you to read it if you have any spare time and have not read it already. The young of our church feel quite sensitive on the subject of their souls salvation and many are enquiring the way to be saved. The death of Emma Ward made quite a lasting impression upon their minds. The night before last several of them professed their desire to ne prayed for and their determination to serve the Lord hereafter, There have been prayer meetings every evening for the last two weeks in the lecture room. Mr Mclvaine has preached several sermons especially to the unconverted and has held a number </s of > of enquiry meetings. Christ is near, passing by and waits to be gracious. Let your prayers </s asend > ascend to the throne of mercy for us, that God would send his holy spirit into our midst and </s glory fy > glorify himself among us. Pray that we may have more faith and rely more on Christs promises. Forget not the unconverted in your prayers, but pray for them that God would touch their hearts and make them to see the love of Christ and the sinfulness </s of > of their own ways. I will remember you in my prayers and God grant that you may have a revival in your college which shall add many souls to the ^number^ </s fold > of Christs children.
