[another hand - Mrs. Arink Dec. '55] Rochester Dec 1st 1855. My dear Henry,

   At last you see my hand-

writing, truly your kind, and any interesting letter, received so long ago, deserved more prompt attention than I have bestowed upon it. but you can't think how I was charmed to hear you can't think how I was charmed to hear from you, especially under the circumstances, penned, or rather pen- cilled as it was, on the tip top of Mt. Sinai. I made a great deal of that letter , and do still, it seems to have a sort of sanctity attaching to it. I read it to several, among whom even two deeply interested listeners, your mother & Marian. So you are hard at work in Paris, France's great heart. I have learned that in this week,
