despatching. I returned last month and to great disappointment found the box still here. To be Sure that the specimens are still in good condition, I open the box and found, that two of them - among which one, the mounted one - falls to pieces, and lucky that I was able to replace them by two others which I had in Store and by adding a fifth one in the box to allow a choice. After doing this I met again with the Same difficulties, and it was in this Stage, that I received your above mentioned letter, Which cause me to go to the Consul of the U.S. and by telling him all the circumstances, to beg his interference in dispatching the box He .readly promisedto do so and I doubt not as you will soon receive the specimens, while I shall avail my self by that opportunity
