Dear Mr. Ward, I thank you very much for your kind letter. I have been very sorry to know how near you passed from us, and that we did not know it. [illegible] would interest you certainly on account of the “[Rochers?] Rouges”. Wonder-ful discoveries have been made there – the whole skeleton of a troglogyte, various weapons made of stone, and so forth. [These?] [roes?] are now being cut to make stones for the breakwater, and no doubt, many curious things
