[another hand- Ward Penikese Is.] Penikese Isl. August 20' 1873 Dear Sir,
I have been so much taken up with the
care of the Anderson School I am so overworked that I have overlooked the contents of your last letter to this day. If not too late I would say that it would suit me better to have the package you are going to send to Cambridge or here sent within a few days open only next week & the contents put up in </u the first days of> September when Dr Wilder would be there to look after them.
As to your journey to Abysinia, I think the plan a
good one, but to be productive it should not be hurried. Ruppell spent years there, with sportsmen and taxidermists, to help him & he did splendid work. I should not like to join in a hurried enterprise, ^ but^ would gladly cooperate in an exploration based upon a solid foundation. The assistence I support of the Redive should be secured & the cooperation of our Connely in Egypt S on the East Coast.
I do not intend to have a Museum here; but only a few
specimens. If you can not answer by Saturday ^from Rochester^ direct to Cambridge where I shall probably be on Wednesday. Yours very truly L Agassiz
