Stockville, Neb April 24, 1874 Prof. H.A. Ward Rochester, NY Dear friend received your letter some days since I now reply do you wish me to send you some bones of extinct animals decide what I wrote you about yesterday I went out on hunting and found what I supposed to be remains of large elephant one of the tasks broken in two was lying in perfect shape when I went to remove it it fell in pieces I did not disturb the head which I seen partly sticking out of the face of the cliff which is a chalky formation red-white [?] and a variety of Colors think there could be many different things found in this place in haste very respectfully EG Nesbitt
