no success. The fearful crisis through which we have passed has done great financial harm to multitudes in our city. The Col- -lege of course suffers its full share.

  I can scarce express to you how

much I regret my inability to "take stock" in your contemplated trip. Should you make another a year hence perhaps we could aid you and benefit ourselves as well. If you take another let us know.

  When you pass this way again

allow yourself time to call. We have very pleasant recollections of former interviews and business relations, and shall always give you a hearty greeting.

yours a merry Christmas and happy New Year, with very many returns.
