Smithsonian Institution

  Washington, D. C.        July 29.th 1873

My dear Sir;

  The two sample cases erected

by you in the large hall of this Institution are very perfect as to the exclusion of dust, arrange- ment of Shelving, for the exhibit- ion of the specimens, and their general external effect.

  The only criticism I would

be inclined to make in regard to these cases is that they are almost too elaborate to be in Keeping with the size and plain ness of the hall.

 Yours very truly,
Joseph Henry

Secty S. I. Prof. H. A. Ward, Rochester, N.Y.
