nwh Penikese Isl, August 20 1873 Dear Sir,

I have been so much taken up with the
care of the Anderson School and am so over worked

that I have overlooked the contents of your last letter to this day. If not too late I would say that it would suit me better to have the packages you are going to sent to Cambridge or here sent within a few days open only next week & the contents put up in the first Days of September when Dr Wilder would be there to look after them.

As to your journey to Abyssinia, I think the plan a

good one, but to be productive it should not be hurried. Ruppell spent years there, with sportsmen & taxidermists to help him & he did splendid work. I should not like to join in a hurried enterprise, ^but^ would gladly cooperate in an exploration based upon a solid foundation. The assistence & support of the ? should be secured & the cooperation of our ? - Egypt & on the East Coast.

I do not intend to have a Museum here; but only a few

specimens. If you can not answer by Saturday ^from Rochester^ direct to Cambridge where I shall probably be on Wednesday. Yours very truly L. Agassiz
