    I write you by

advice of Prof. Alphus Hyatt of the Boston Soc. of Nat. Hist. to know whether you can give me any employment for the coming summer as a col- lector of specimens. Graduating next May from the Inst. of Technology, and with no immediate prospect of work - I wish to be in- creasing my knowledge of Natural History and if pos- sible paying my expenses at the same time. I would take a position for ? payment of expenses. Although I think
