Dear Sir:

      I received this morning your

letter of the 17th inst. enclosing Dft. on Bk. of America, New York, for Twelve hundred and sixty five dollars ($1265.00); of which, the sum of Three hundred and ninety-dollars $390.00) is to cover the cost of freight and insurance on the Cabinet, and the balance of Eight hundred and seventy five dollars ($875.00) is to meet the expenses of mounting the same, as by agreement with you. I have en- closed the Dft. to the order of our Treasurer, Walter Bouie, who had al- ready been instructed to furnish Mr Howell with what funds he might call for.
