[page 2] 2 Washington and Lee University, LEXINGTON, VA. 28 Dec., 1875. two rooms on the ground floor of the middle building, separated from the cabinet-hall only by its south wall each of which is almost 16 ft.by 20 ft. in horizontal dimensions, and 10 ft. 10 1/2 in. high. If they are high enough, they can be made into one, by removing the partition wall which now separates them, and be used for the Zoology. In this event the work room could be gotten by cutting a door through the north wall of cabinet-hall, either in the N. E., or N. W. corner. When you next write, please advise us to this.

       If the galleries proposed will not

make the cabinet-hall too dark, I see no objection to them, unless they interfere with the wall-space you require.
