The boxes today
arrived with contents uninjured. The box containing the head was broken into two pieces but was saved from further injury by the strength of the cast. The packing was excellent. except that the mailing was not suffi- cient. The car containing our boxes collided with another so violently as to disable itself. The box with the Head was tipped over by the shock but its decent was broken by some convenient cans of white lead. Leippi is molding vertebrae and I am painting. I can not use him in painting the beast as have no means save words to make him work thoroughly and I proved
