Rochester NY March 31, 1883</br> Dear Mr. Cheeseman,</br> This time the conjunction of the Pacific </br> Steamer(?) is such that New Zealand mail comes and leave me on the same day.</br> So this is just to tell you that I have you welcome letter of Feb. 24. Am glad to hear of two more Apteryx, Eggs and skeletons.</br> I can use all that you can get me in exchange or for cash. Shall be happy to [attend?} to any commission for you here at any time. It would probably be best to keep the specimens till enough for a sizable box. Then ship to my Agent [?} at San Francisco.</br> In great haste,</br> Yours very truly,</br> Henry A. Ward.</br> Your box of specimens, with your Apteryx and Eggs came lately. Were very welcome, and I have to thank you for your very kind services in my behalf.</br> H.A.W.</br> I asked Mr. John Macpherson of Tauranga to send you a box for me..
