       In this connection, I would say,

on behalf of all concerned in this insti- tution, that as individuals interested in the cause of education in general, as citizens, or residents, of this Com- monwealth, and as members of a neighbor institution of learning, we can not but be truly thankful for what Mr - has lately done for the University of Virginia.

       Unless our good friend should de-

sire some other disposition of it, or unless you will suggest something better, I propose that the donation be used, as far as may be necessary, in making our cabinets as full and complete as our limits will admit
