Prof H. A. Ward. My dear Sir, I have been unable to find the patellae of that gorilla. Mr. Patch has mislaid them but I have the clavicle of that same individual. Send me the dugong perfect and thoroughly matured. An Echidna in the rough, and $40 in cash and you can have the entire lot of bones I sent you. If you think you can not accept of this offering, you may return the gorilla and keep the other at you own figures. I am positive that I can get $200 for the gorilla. The dugong, although as rare-probably more so-than the gorilla, is not so salable as a gorilla.
