Henry A. Ward Esq. Dear Sir,

    I saw Mr Williston

at Northampton yesterday. He informed me you will be ready to ship heavy freight for the Seminary in ten days. And you desire to know the condition of things here. The crossing at Smith's Ferry is not safe for loaded teams. Double horse teams can be hired at less price here than at Holyoke. I presume the goods can be stored in the basement of the building until it is ready for them.

     I will attend to the trucking
