Brunswick (Maine) Feb 26th 1876 Dear Sir

       Yours of the 13th instant

reached me today. I am here for two months giving the course on Anatomy at the Medical Department of Bowdoin College and can, therefore, do nothing at present concerning the affairs of the Natural History Society. As to the Mastodon, the affair does not rest with me but you may be sure that the trustees would never dream of having it moved. I am very sorry that I did not meet you again
