    I have been deluded & 

inured into coming here, fortunately not at my own expense, to inspect a so called cabinet of fossils at New Windsor, the personal property of one Rev. Shryock, who wanted to sell them to Prof. Guegot. He claims 4000 specimens. There is a large lot of Cincinnati brachis- pods, a few sawn and polished ceph- alopods from Lias of England, and a Chaotic Mass, without labels except an occasional slip of paper marked "Cumberland, Md."
