[another hand- </u Kast > Dec. '75 Feb. 16 '76] Adrian, Dec.27 1875 Prof. Ward\ Dear Sir; Yours is recd. But it is now too late to make any attempt to get any thing from you. I was away for a few days procuring other things when your letter came, having been delayed a day and so got it too late even for ordering by telegraph the Glyptodon. But I am getting other rather notable objects and am opening with a fine effect. Well I am sorry that I am too late for a Megetherium of your back just made, and must wait till you get another for Me. By the time it is made I will have the money I will have the Money I trust to pay for it. I will not order the Glyptodon
