Univ. Va. Apr 11, 1876 Professor H. A Ward My dear Sir,
Yours of the 8th came by
last mail. We had a meeting last night to arrange our plan pf operation with the Miller Board, at their meeting today at 1 o'clock We think we have it all straight & hope to find no difficulty in getting them to adopt our recom- mendation . Our Consultat was held by request of their President. Judge W J Robertson. We shall ask for annual appropua of $800 for interest on $10000 & 1100 or 1200 Sinking fund annually till debt is paid. Say until $1200 is paid. We raising the annual intend on the balance of $2000. Then whatever Alumni can give will be so much Extra. However we shall do the best we can with the Board, & hope to com- municate to you promptly their action, Whatever it is.
I am sincerely delighted to hear that our
unknown friend was not apparently seriously an- noyed by the premature publication at Washington. It was not our fault & we are delighted that it did not put an obstacle in our way. We shall
