What the carpenters wished to know is this ~ The specific - cations call for cases, in Zoological Hall, 8 ft. high; base, 14 in.; doors 5 ft,; cornice, 12 in,; ~ 10 in. required to be added to make the 8 Ft.; and the carpenters did not know whether to put this 10 in. in the base, making it 2 ft. high instead of 14 in., or to proportion it between the base and the cornice.
