Legislative boxes, as you know, <'s pu > expressed by a series of resolutions their high appreciation of the value of this gift to Virginia and the South. The Board of Visitors of the University - will at their next meeting arrange that the new Building shall be provided with a suitable slab (over the outer door), inscribing it the </u Lewis Brooks Hall > I enclose photographs of the Building as it now stands. Hoping to hear from you at your pleasure, I remain, Sir, Yours very respectfully Henry A. Ward. I have </s thought it unnecessary to > said nothing of the </u cost > of this Cabinet of Botany, fully equipped. To be equal with the other cabinets in appearance and in real, solid merit it should cost $8,000. (I am myself convinced that Mr Brooks had he lived, would have carried it out in this way.) It may however be made equal in exterior appearance and to everybody except Teachers or Scientific men who should carefully examine it, for a sum of $6000 or even $5000. H. A. W.
