already on hand half-a-dozen Inadrumana which are not noted in our list, and I know of several more existing. These at present are entirely unprovided for and do not go to you. Yet you of course need them for it is your wish to make this collection a complete one as to species. I wish that some provision had been made for this before Mr. Colgate's final conclusion of the bargain and acceptance of the price. Still I see a way to greatly relieve the matter. That is, to adhere to Mr. Colgate's offer (made to </u us > at his house) of $7,332.# for this order. That will give a sum of over $300.# to apply to these troubles only arisen and arising species, and can be so used as to meet the difficulty. If you favor it, please to inform me </u at once > and I will reprint the Inadrumana catalogue with (present) prices and adding late discovered species with their prices, thus leaving this catalogue or list in handsome, clean shape, as is that of N. Am. [Inamurmals.] Please write promptly, as, if I make the reprint, I wish to do it before I come to New York - next week perhaps.
Yours very truly, [Henry Augustus Ward] Copy of L.
