serious one, at least under the present circumstances. If \for any cause I am mistaken in this supposition I will be glad [to] yield the point. If you desire to retain Mr. Bailly now is the time ^to^ effect such changes in his surroundings as will make him satisfied to remain. His principal cause of dissatisfaction seems to lie with his "boss", whomever that may mean, but whether it is either possible or desirable to effect any change I of course do not know. On the supposition that you would rather keep Mr. Bailly I have written to him advising him to not act hastily in the matter, and to have a "conference" with you before making any preparations to go.
