cases per Str Bumen ? 3374 & 3375 were shipped you on the 25h of October 1861. The money for the payment of freight we received, and we hd supposed that it was duly paid over to Hleprs Oilncks & Co as that matter was entrusted to our clerk who is now absent – we beg you to await for a short time until we can fully investigate the matter and learn whether it has not been paid twice. If we find that the amount was not paid as so directed (as he has full charge of such payments) we will remit you $28,50/100 — as we have drawn on you for that amount. The Ship Meridian has not yet arrived though expect for some weeks Very respectfully A Hutchinson & Co
