me see what is to prevent him from keeping to his orig- inal proposition Viz - To secure subscriptions - gratuities I think they were to be) for the expenses of the Exhibition=

to Studer calling upon friends to contribute cash = & then the Society pay him back

is not to call on any one - but simply to advance the $"500. from his own pocket?
