       As Mr. Wright has in his offer of the

plants to you set the number at 4 or 500 (I think), the smallest set that was found was sent you, inasmuch as the largest reached to "960 sp." It is so long since Mr. Wright had looked over his bundles here that he had doubtless forgotten what they really were, and made his statements according to his impressions. There are also some separate packages con- taining the Palms of his collection (only a dozen species or so), and still others of the Hepa? which range from 137 to 169 sp. - If you desire them, or the larger set of the main collec- tion, Mr. Wright would be glad, I have no doubt, to let you have them and would be very reasonable in his terms.
