Dear Prof. Ward.
Your's of the 30th ult. is at
hand. A word about the skins. At Mr. True's request I put prices on the skins, it being understood that said prices were for </u good > skins. Now how many of my prices they accepted I know not, but I distinctly remember pricing Black Bear $25. to $35. and saying that the latter implied a </u first class > specimen. Unless you make a special request to that effect I shall have nothing to do with picking out skins. It will devolve on True & Hornaday. In fact no one seems to remember that I ever held any responsible position with you. Mr. True has just started off on his vacation and will be absent a month so I do not know whether any shipment of skins will be made you, unless it be two or three largish ones which are in the bath. Am sorry that you will be away nearly, or quite all the time I shall be in R. As regards Joe of course he is at liberty to do work
