Dear Prof. Ward.

    You ask if a half page

picture can be reduced by photo engraving to two columns of Bulletin . If the lines are not too fine, and if the cut is clear and without too much close shading. it can be done all right, for the Moss. Eng. lev. say that god wood cuts can be largely reduced, directly from the picture. Shall be glad to hear about the Bulletin. Am going to make a special point of advertising Birds of Paradise at $8. to $10. skins $15. ro $18. mounted and Lyre birds $5. skins and $10. mounted How do those prices appear to you. Have unpacked Stafford's boxes containing the Marsupial skins and skeletons, Cockatoos etc. They are a goodly lot and unless I am much mistaken will mount well. Some of the Kngaroos are very fine. Whoever packed the boxes deserves a compliment for they were compactly and carefully packed with the exception of one small box., evidently collected and packed by another party, where
