Charleston, S. C 28th Apr 1881 Mr Frederic A. Lucas Dear Sir. Professor Ward wrote

me before leaving for Australia asking
that I have some sirens and amphiuma
collected for him this spring. 

about 50 of each. I now send you by express today one keg containing 27. of which some few are amphiuma.

They cost 10 cts a piece and vary 

from 15 to 18 inches in size. I think that you will find them satisfactory, but you had better examine them as soon as received, as they may require more alcohol. I will send you another keg in about a month and when we can

balance our account.
