Dear Professor,
I received your
card today, asking for the skin of Mt Rat. by mail.
I have packed the Mt Rat
skin & skeleton; a small, but very pretty, skin of some kind of water Fowl, & also the skin & skeleton of a Rattlesnake. Just Killed, in a light box & will mail the package to you by next mail;
Please to advise me whether
the snakes skin & skeleton, reach you in good condition. - Plenty of dry arsenic about it, & its so much easier to pack green that I thought to chance it truly yours P. V. Jackson, could send you the Indian skull by mail if you wished it.
