Sterling, Montana. July 14th 1879.
" 25 I hasten to acknowledge receipt
of yours of July 2nd containing P. O. orders $83.00 balancing indebtedness in full. Many thanks!
Although I have a few specimens on
hand, yet, not enough to bother with this season, unless I can secure one or two Bear: I have 1. skull of Male Indian, grown 1. Head of B.T. Deer - skull & skin to cover - quite fine 1. Mt. Rat skin & skeleton & 1. Skin of small waterfowl; - name unknown
My Boaz Claim is beginning to redeem its good name. It is being worked under lease from me, - & a rich chute of quartz struck, right back under the shaft you sunk, - the first run of 34 tons have yielded $60.00 per ton, or about $2000.00 - all taken out by two men in six weeks. - I receive one fourth.
