In my opinion the very first thing to be done will be to pick out all the specimens of the H. Collections, make a careful list of them to be sent to Des Moines at once, & have the Collection in perfect shape by the time the Iowa State Librarian (Mrs Maxwell) comes on in June (or first of July) to see it and report upon it. I have guarranteed to pay the expense of the inspection in case the Collection is </u not > taken by the City of Des M. or the state of Iowa.
I think we may as well make our
calculations upon my going back to Iowa next January to do a month or two of log-rolling in the lobby of the legislature. My Des Moines
