       Have just examined

the specimens of your list of Hornaday's Pept. & Batr., which I did not readily identify when going over them before.

       The "Ceratophrys" is not Ceratophrys

but a genus peculiar to the East Indies long ago characterized, species ? by La Cepid Wagler. The "Batrachian", No 46, is a fish, Monopterus. Described by La Cepide.

       The "Mata Mata", the Rept. & Batr.

not purchased and the Fishes are returned today. The Rept. etc. are inclosed with the Fishes.

       The Tortoise is put up with
