when I arranged the different collec- tons. — As the Catalogue of my collection of plaster casts of faces of men is not yet finished I send you a list, which will show you how valuable this collection is for study. In fast every Museum of ? will be obliged Mohave the whole series, which forms the most important material for Anthropology every collected. I ned not to say how much trouble I had in making these casts, among them a lot of pure savages. To each individual is a scientific notice, giving size, color, hair etc., as well as notes on the different races and tribes. The casts will be ? colored in the true color, taken after ^the^ living individual, and uncolored. The collection is protected by law from counterfying but I know that would not help for Un. St. So, as I wrote you in my last, it was my idea, to go wish you in contract in regard to the sale of Un. St. and I expected to get from you some proposals. Writing up left side of page
