I received your kind letter and understand that you have to do enough with your own things, but on the other hand I know that your establishment is so extended that you still can use other remarkable collections besides. My collations are so varied and n regard to zoology not yet scientifically determined that I am at present not able to read your lists. By and By I will find time to make up such on ver- tebratae, as I have to sell a lot of birds, reptiles and fishes, the

two latter classes being determi-

ned by Professor Peters, as you know our first authority, which I think will enlarge a good deal the value. I think I have to spare about 800 to 1000 dishes in many species from the South Seas, all localities carefully noticed. They are
