Gipps Land Lakes May 28th 81 Prof. H. A. Ward Dear Sir On Thursday evening, accompanied by my informant, we raised the [female] skeleton. It lay in the Sand Hummocks about 5 miles from where I live. I took every possible precaution to leave no bones, sifting
the surrounding sand for that
purpose most carefully for at least
4 hours. The skull appears to be
perfect wanting only 2 teeth in the upper jaw which might have been lost or [changed?] during life. I do not pretend to be anything of an Anatomist but to the best of my belief you will also find the main Bones complete
