18th May 1881 Sir I have the honor to inform you that the honorable the Minister of land and Survey has been good enough to authorize the making. of copies of Photographs of the Paleontological Casts exhibited by you in [ ] Exhibition provided you will send them to the department for that purpose.

[&] I would therefore venture to ask if you will be so kind as to hand over to the Department for the purpose mentioned the set of larger Photographs which you so politely permitted me to examine.
