Dear Sir, Your letter of the 2nd inst. to Mr. Foster has been re- ceived and in the absence of that gentleman, who is at present visit- ing the interior and Pacific coast of this country, I venture to reply as follows: It is possible to go from here to Acapulco with safety; the time required being about ten days. It would be necessary to go with a mule train and rough it. in going from Vera Cruz to Aca- pulco via this city, you would see an interesting portion of the country. Yours truly J. Hastell Clark
