Panama N. G. April 14th, 1876 Prof. Henry A. Ward Dear Sir, your regis- treed letter of Mar. 29th reached me yes- terday. I would have got it 3 days earlier but I did not write at the Consulate until the package containing the reg- intered letters was opened. Our Consul sent me word that it awaited me, and I called and got it, The letter was no less acceptable than the enclosed $30. You have doubtless, been informed e'er this, why your Jan. 28th letter did not reach me on time.
