BOARD ON BEHALF OF U.S. EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENTS

Dear Prof Ward,
Your note was rec'd Saturday on my
return from Middletown. As regards the Agassiz collecting tanks, I am afraid there is not much hope, in this quarter. Every tank in the building is crammed full, and I am at the tip end of my wits to know what to do about fitting out a collector who sails for Lake Nicaragua on Saturday next. J. P. Estes, Cambridge, Mass., makes the cans and tanks for us. He furnishes a cylindrical tank 15 inches drain. 22 inches deep with 10 in screw tops at $13.00 and a size of same diameter and half the depth at $10.50 He furnishes boxes at $2.00 and $1.50 making the prices of tanks $15 and $12 respectively. These tanks are very serviceable for storage and would work well in collecting I think. Of course Mr Estes can give you any shape or size you like
