My dear Orton
I put up the box of specimens th
yesterday which I spoke of in my other sheet & took it to
the cars this morning. It is directed to you at N. Adams
so that you can get it there about thursday of next
week. The weight of the box is about 320 lbs. & the freight
from here to Albany is 1.73 & from there to N. Adams
probably enough to make out 3.00 in the whole. So you
will know how much money to take over with you
when you go after it with Mr. Moregshorse.
And now a few words concerning the contents of
the box. The specimens are yours & entirely ar your
`disposal with the exception of the large specimen
at the bottom (the side on which its connected comes off)
which I wish to have sent to rhe Nat. Hist. Soc. & if they
have any duplicates to give me in exchange I shall
be ^very^ glad of them and if not no matter. They
would havw been glad of it here at the University & would
