Baker last week who says he is doing well, but must go west in the spring, and inquires about a place on one of the surveys. Shall I not invite him to visit me as soon as the weather willl allow and "lobby" for a place ? Letters from yourself and Mr. Howell would of course help him. Mr. Rathbun was inquiring about corals.
