An account of the resource
The University of Rochester has biological, mineralogical, and fossil material that had been part of the University of Rochester Natural Science Museum, a large museum active from 1860 until the late 1960s. Biological specimens and some fossils are housed in the Department of Biology, and minerals and many fossils are maintained by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
